Born and raised in Brandon, Diane Nelson has worked as a broadcaster and journalist for 30 years.
She spent three years in radio and television before moving to the newspaper industry 27 years ago. During her decade and a half at the Brandon Sun, Nelson served as health reporter, arts and features reporter and Lifestyles editor.
She continues to write – a weekly wine column, Vine Lines, and a weekly interview feature, Sun Shines, for the Brandon Sun, as well as a variety of stories and reviews for numerous national, provincial and local publications. She has won three Manitoba Human Rights Journalism awards, as well as international newspaper honours for her work.
Nelson now shares her passion for storytelling with media students, to whom she teaches journalism and television production/performance, at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon.
